Ants in maxillaria pot?

Hi everyone,

Two days ago I purchased a maxillaria tenuifolia from a greenhouse and there seems to be an ant colony inside the pot. Usually a few of them are out and I kill them when I see them but I watered it today and a ton of ants were just scurried around. Anyone know how to get rid of the colony? It’s in quarantine with a few other houseplants and orchids all from the same nursery and I would like to prevent the problem from spreading.

Submerge it completely for a few hours with a plate or rock to hold it down and the ants will be gone. This plant loves water so it won't be harmed at all.
