Zygonisia Cynosure 'Blue Birds'
This is similar to, if not exactly like Ray's blooms. A cross between Aganisia and Zygopetalum, the blossoms are 2.5 inches wide, and the plant 12 inches tall. I had hopes for a nice aroma, but so far it has none. One more "I have to have it" when seen in a garden shop.
A few days before I purchased this my daughter gave me a Phal. bellina in bud for Mothers' Day. I hit the jackpot this week.

I know this is an old thread, but I had the good fortune recently to visit Hawaii, and I saw this exact hybrid at the Akatsuka Orchids show room, so I believe it is one of their creations. If you have any cultivation questions, you may want to contact them Buy Hawaiian Tropical Flowers and Orchids Direct Online from Akatsuka Orchid Gardens

Thankyou, Marc. I am about to take a look at their recommendations,as I do have some problem, which may be too little humidity.

I know this is an old thread, but can anyone tell me the abbreviation for Zygonisia? I have a 'Blue Birds' and I am trying to get my journal updated with all my chids. I tried Googling it with no luck.
