Default Max. tenuifolia var aurea?!

Been a while since I posted, but felt like I had to share this one. It’s a Max. tenuifolia that I picked up as a NBS “bagged” orchid from Home Depot a couple years ago. Well, it just had its first blooms, and to my surprise, it has beautiful yellow flowers, a color I’ve never seen on this species. I assume this would classify it as an “aurea” variation, figured I’d show it here, and probably find out if that’s the case. Whatever it’s called, I like it, and it still has that lovely coconut smell.

There is an aurea form of Max. tenuifolifa, and it looks like you have one, a really healthy and robust one. You hit the jackpot... those are still fairly rare, and fetch a higher price than the usual form. Great find!
