okok. mine has recently finished flowering. nothing to hate about them. when the flowers are fresh and new, have a great scent. starts to fade, but never quite goes away. my flowers lasted about a month or so each. had a total of about 15 flowers. they are very tolerant, and the foliage grows fast during its active time. as for carre, feed once a month and typical wet and dry watering. moderate temps, and moderately high humidity. more similar to phal than zygo. if you have any more ?'s feel free to ask. good luck

It is. One of the most fragrant zygos I've smelled, too. That's a beautiful plant you've got there. I love how this hybrid has 4-colored flowers.

And to answer the OP's question, I'd wait for the spike to die back and then remove as much of it as possible from the plant. These plants finish maturing their pseudobulbs after flowering, so it'll probably be of benefit to remove the obstruction so the new pseudobulb can ripen normally.
