Some of the other members of this forum have identified the orchid below as Maxillaria tennufolia. Please let me know if you concur.
For now I will operate under the assumption that the above ID is correct and ask if anyone could give me some advice on this plant.
When I rescued this orchid it was sunburned and had a very dry and pathetic root system. I repotted it into a standard orchid mix (bark chips, charcoal, and perlite) topped with sphagnum moss. It sits near a window in my bathroom on a tray of wet pebbles and receives medium light for the first half of the day and bright light for the rest of the day.
There has been no sign of new growth since repotting and the newer pseudobulbs have not grown noticeably for the past six months. Until recently I was watering this orchid once a week accompanied by a light feeding (three doses of general fertilizer and one dose of bloom booster every month). I've done a little reading about Maxillaria tennufolia and started trying to water whenever it starts to feel dry, which is about every three days or so.
Can anyone give me some advice on how to perk this plant up?
Thanks for your time and consideration.
