I believe you are correct - and so I am going to grow these Zygopetalum in my living room until I kill them or they die.

You grow your Zygos. You keep growing until you either figure out how to get it to work, or you realize that it just isn't going to happen for you.

I grow mine in a tent with 75-80% rh and 63-75F. It puts on a lot of growth in late “summer” and flowers pretty profusely into “fall”…at least it did last year. We’ll see if it does the same this year. I think it’s a bit warm for its liking. I’ll have to check but think it’s a blue blazes by something. Got it from Hauserman’s as a seedling last year and it took off.

Just wanting to illustrate that different varieties likely do better than others in the conditions we can provide. This one seems to do well in intermediate conditions with good air movement.

It’s in a grow tent with led lighting, wick humidifier and fan. Not great for displaying plants but I tend to them daily so get to enjoy them and feel a sense of accomplishment in providing them with conditions they thrive in (I think/hope)
