A good friend gave this to me several years ago , it finally bloomed , decided it is a Max. of some type .
I can't ask the person as he passed on right after it was given to me .
Not pretty but special . Gin

I just received my Maxillaria tenufolia, but have not bloomed it yet. The flowers are similar but orangey and said to smell like coconut. The leaves are pretty different--very grassy. Does yours have a fragrance?

This seems to be Max. crassifolia... but does not look like the Florida form... nice plant, and a great species!

Very nice Gin. Were you gifted that from Luke? (I hope you're the same Gin I'm thinking of) That was back in the days when I first started posting at Garden Web and he helped me a couple times before he got really sick.
