Lycaste consobrina and the blood sacrifice

well I got to feel your pain. Ive had a lycaste consolbrina for about a year now. Never noticed any spines on it at all. So I saw your post and figured mine was just to lazy to get them seeing as how its too lazy to bother blooming for me! (its currently on strike with my bulbo) Anyhoo, I totally put the idea out of my mind that it was armed. So this morning while moving things around a bit I managed to knock it off the table. I made a fumbling grab for it and bamo, it nailed me. Im a blacksmith so my hands are pretty rugged but it sliced right through me. Guess I should buy a few more lycastes so shes not lonely and bitter!

Paul, now that it has tasted blood, either you're in BIG trouble, or it got what it wanted, and will now relent and bloom.
