Lycaste hybrid's demise

I'm unsure how this was possible, but it seems I'm going to kill my first Lycaste.

I assume it's a fungus issue but I purchased this around 10 weeks ago and has slowly gone downhill, the backbulbs were shriveled on arrival and the center growth was brown which has eventually spread through to the other leaves. I should've contacted the seller earlier as cost wasn't cheap (Lycaste's never are in Aus).

If any experienced in rescuing Lycaste's from demise has any suggestions I'd sure appreciate it, I have others that are doing fine but this one's not looking good. Thanks.

Can you give the name? How have you been caring for it? Light, temperature, humidity, watering? Did you buy it from somebody who grew it in Australia, or was it recently imported from the Northern Hemisphere?

I'm not a Lycaste expert. Most have a strong seasonal growth pattern, needing a partly to totally dry winter. Many drop all leaves every winter and go dormant. They don't like high temperatures. When in growth they need to stay moist.

I think it's an Australian plant from a slightly warmer climate as importing is near impossible here. I've felt the need to water it as the backbulbs were like wafers compared to healthy plants, sadly I paid around $100 off ebay but didn't raise it earlier with the seller.

The white residue on the leaves is mancozeb which hasn't helped and if anything made it worse.

Bump. I didn't see your reply initially. I'm not a Lycaste expert because it's generally too hot here for them.

Now that I look at it on my computer monitor, it looks very dessicated. This isn't a fungus issue. When they are in leaf they need to stay quite moist. Large bark would probably dry out too fast unless your relative humidity is extremely high all the time. The pot is very small for the root system I would expect on a plant that size. I suspect you got a plant with a bad root system and it couldn't take up enough water.
