Hi from Fuerteventura
Hi, been following your forums for a while now and they have been so much help already.
I live in/on Fuerteventura, one of The Canary Islands, part of Spain but geographically just off the west coast of Africa.
We have a challenging climate: near constant strong winds with high humidity but also a high salt content, only one or two days of rain a year, daytime temps between 15C and 40C, night-time between 10C and 25C, very high UV levels.
Add to this our tap water is desalinated and has a high dissolved mineral content.
Growing anything here is very different compared to the UK where I gardened for many years before retiring here.
All my orchids are kept indoors and I get little choice in what I can buy from a general garden centre here - I can't import any bought online.
Anyone else here from The Canaries?
