I'm 100% a flower guy. Why is that a bad thing?

Nothing at all! Just that some of less-flowery types are often looked down on when we step outside out typical space.

Haha! I look forward to hearing what kinds of interesting habitats you end up inventing for your orchids.

But I need to get something straight- I'm not a "flower guy"! I own a machine shop. I have built functional engines from bar stock.
Growing in the Hawkeye state (Mississippi River town) there were a lot of old boys that flower guys around there. It just they didn't raise orchids. They'd take as much pride in their garden of irises or roses as any lady would. The rest of the time they were working in the roundhouse/factory or spent their time hunting/fishing. Likewise there were old whip thin women that I swear lived on black coffee and cigarettes who were "tougher than a boiled owl" as my dad used to say. But either would be there to help if a neighbor was in need. I learned early on its what's do for others that's important.
