I just started last march and I have about 15 orchids in my care and I hope they all do well.

I am taking care of 8 species that is endemic to the Philippines and my most prized possession is Vanda sanderiana as you locally call 'waling-waling' .

thanks for the welcome
wow...a sanderiana. a blooming specimen here for that is expensive. I saw one for sale in the orchid show here a few days ago sold for 5000 pesos...so about $100 USD and they said the alba form costs a lot more. Pretty steep for a plant. all of what I have are acquired only this year so I still have a long way to go when it comes to taking care of them. I just hope they all do well and soon im sure they will bloom for me.

I can understand why it is expensive. The orchid plant is in the endangered list. Most growers in the USA have produced it from flask and it is encouraged to propagate it. The specimen you saw must have been grown in a lab because it is illegal to harvest it from the wild.
