Hello June!! haha glad I converted you to the dark side!! you rekindled my love of orchids again... so I shall be following you in getting more orchids soon
I told her of Andys orchids... and I am soo jealous that she lives close to that nursery! I am 3000 miles away I just ordered a bundle of orchids from Andy, and I should receive them Wednesday
Yea... I am THAT friend LOL! and I am back now, and I see a couple familiar faces that are still around! (needless to say, I am very excited to be back into the orchid fun)

Welcome to Orchidboard! Seems like you are getting into orchids in the funnest way possible: jumping in with both feet! In you hang around here, you'll see that we do a great job in 'enabling' other people to get more orchids. The more time I spend on OB, the longer my wishlist gets.
I'm curious to see photos of your fish room, and of course of the lovely new orchids when they arrive!
What sort of fish do you keep?

Haha, mostly fish you've never heard of. I have some FW/BW gobies, wild type bettas imported from asia, and some small rasboras. I also have a few fancy bettas and guppies. And a bunch of shrimp.
One of the wild betta tanks has the haraella in it, with a shade rock because it's really close to an aquatic plant light and I didn't want it to burn. My little cubano orchid is going in one of the other betta tanks (I like riparian growth and have a place to mount it above the water, so I figured I'd try it out.
And yes, I definitely jumped in feet first. But, I did my research first and got mostly plants that are well-suited to the environment I'll be growing them in, with one or two challenges here and there I had to make it a little difficult for myself because the one orchid that I first fell in love with is a fairly difficult paph and I am still determined to have one and get it to flower, so I gotta get some practice in

Hi June, Welcome!
Island Girl probably told you, there are lots of orchid enablers here.
BTW, a friend of mine that used to live in California used to grow quite a few Cymbidium orchids outdoors.

And the Cyms are fine outside in the more inland areas of southern California. In fact my first orchid was a Cym from a co-worker who lived inland where it got hotter and colder and drier than near the coast where I lived. I figured that if she could grow orchids outside, I certainly should be able to... the rest is history. Talk about enabling...
