Welcome! I would love to see some pics of your setup. I have no room for a vivarium so I need to live vicariously though the people on the forum

For the vast majority of minis a vivarium isn't necessary. All of my minis are mounted, and just hang out together.

I do have a few minis hanging around outside but there is just something about a vivarium that is just so delightful. I mean you basically have a little an eco system in your living room and how awesome is that?! Plus, then I could have some of those cool growers that I obsess over. I would love to have one but alas... 580sqft with 2 cats and a husband leave no room for one thank god for my outdoor space

I can't argue your point - it's way cool. I've essentially done the same with a room in my house, which is my main orchid room. But unlike you I'm not presently married (wives keep vanishing), and despite the three large dogs I have several fully empty rooms.

Awesome! I used to raise and breed dart frogs. Loved every minute of it......except for making those God-foresaken fly cultures. I don’t miss that a bit!

Interestingly, I too got interested in plants while building enclosures. It carried forward in to growing plants.

I’m really new to orchids so I know so little at this point. But by crikey if I can learn to raise and breed dart frogs, I can learn to raise orchids!

Looking forward to your journey!

Haha~ Zoomie, I hear ya! I am very new in all the orchid chaos, but loving the miniatures that I can put in the vivs. Husband and I currently living in a two bedroom townhouse with a small dog and two cats so space is pretty limited, especially when one of the cats gets up on the frog rack and will eat any plants within her reach! Needless to say I'm ready for a bigger place haha.

Only have three orchids so far, but I love the Masdevallia nidifica flowers and the growth habit of Epi. porpax.

SaraJean, sure thing! I'll post pics soon Gotta figure out how first lol

JandLOrchids has nice plants. Their inventory is not as extensive as it once was. They have new owners now though Cordelia Head is still working there. They are building their inventory back to what it was. I love shopping there in fact I used a gift certificate last night and ordered five new miniatures! YAY

I am so glad they are still in business!
