Hi all...I fell into orchids accidentally. We work with florists at work and the poor NoID Phalaenopsis were always being thrown away after the flowers had died, so I started taking them home. Lurking on forums like this helped me work out how not to kill them and I now have a healthy little collection. There is a lot of knowledge to draw on here so hoping you can all help me with some trickier challenges!

spacekat9, welcome to the board!

In my country, even if flowers are dead, they are sold by the same price. So, you're lucky!

Ask freely and we'll answer.

Welcome! How nice that you are able to rescue some of these orchids that would otherwise be discarded. You'll find lots of help and advice here.

Welcome to the board. I have a friend that's a florist and I have gotten some really nice orchids from him for free. It's wonderful, the bad part is sometimes by the time I get them they are in not the best shape. But I can't complain.
