Texan with new indoor garden
Four months ago I had a beautiful little cottage with roses and daylilies, but it was getting to be a lot to take care of so I sold it, and then the house flooded, so what with the flood and the move I have had a lot to deal with.
I finally found a beautiful tiny (less than 700sf) apartment away from the coast, and moved in, but missed my garden.
So I decided to have some indoor plants. The apartment only has one window so my plants are arranged near it, with supplemental lighting. There is a patio and patio door but for several reasons those are not appropriate for plants.
I now have, cacti, succulents and orchids that will live indoors all the time. Between the noids and babies, there are around 50 orchids. They have been repotted into a mix of hydroton and lava, or in the case of the vanda, a little bit of lava. Hopefully they will do well, I look forward to reading and researching here to help them be happy.
I am very happy to be here on your wonderful site, I see so many posting here who have valuable experience and opinions.
Thank you.

hello fella Texan! I am in the top of texas, but we have a house and love building...we built our 2nd greenhouse off the back, and we are in the planning/wishing stage of enclosing the front stoop for a combo catio and green room too! I used a 2' x 4' light stand for a while, but it was just not enough to satisfy me! good luck in your new space!

Thank you all for the kind welcomes!
Merry Christmas to all. I hope that the New Year brings you good health, and happiness, and that your orchids likewise are healthy and happy enough in your company to bloom and bring you joy.
