Default Hello from Canada

Hello pleased to return to the forum after an absence of five or six years due to illness and lack of interest however I am finding my passions starting to grow again and have returned with a new account to refresh my knowledge and share a passion with other orchid growers out there.

While in school back in the 90s I went to an orchid show in Toronto and meant my first slipper orchid. That orchid is long dead along with several others however I don't' give up easy and hope to continue on growing slippers and a few other orchids species.

Pleased to meet all of you.

By the way, my name is Barbara.

Hello I forgot all about Orchid Board for awhile and am doing a little better depending on the day. My cockatiel's and orchids keep calling my name too get me out of bed in the morning.

I ordered several repotting supplies from Ravenvision here in Ontario and am currently re-potting all my plants which is going better then I thought it would have. Due too unemployment and surgery I have not been able too afford too repot until this year so am finding lots of old rotten roots however the soil just smells earthy and not sick so hopefully it will be ok.

My Paph Diathium is rootless however the rest of them are doing ok...I think.

Our greenhouse is not working currently as of this summer so we are leaving the door open too allow air circulation. It's been very humid most days so I am just waiting too see the fungus take hold.

Thank you for the welcome originally many months ago. Too many computer problems made life difficult.
