Hello from Denver! Female
Default Hello from Denver!

! I'm new to this forum, as well as the orchid hobby. I've grown indoor/outdoor plants my entire life, and have recently decided to pursue my interest in orchids...they are GORGEOUS!!

-Anybody have any suggestions for a beginner orchid book?!?! I've heard the Ortho book for Orchids is pretty good.

Thanks!
Melissa

Hi Melissa! Welcome!
Yes, orchids are gorgeous and we are all hooked here!
I think there is this tiny little orchid love bug that flies around orchids and it bites us and we become slaves to these beautiful blooms! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!
My all time favorite book that I started with (was recommended to me) is "Orchid Growing for Wimps."
I'm sure there will be many other suggestions, but that is simple to read, has excellent step by step illustrations on how to do everything from repotting, mounting, making pebble trays, recognizing pests/treating them, etc. It also covers the basic requirements for the most common orchids with easy charts that I love. Check it out. I got mine online cheaper than at a store. There are many others as well, but this one I keep going back to all the time.
Again, welcome aboard and have fun browsing around OB! finding the right book!
