Default Hello from Oklahoma

My name is Terry, I live in Tulsa Oklahoma. I am originally from New York and moved out here 5 years ago. I am new to the board but I'm already enjoying it. I only have one Phal now but I have had other orchids before. I also have a few bonsai trees but like orchids they need a lot of care. Hope to talk to some of you in the chat room. Have a good day and enjoy your orchids.

Terry, how do you like OK compared to NY? Where in NY were you located? I really need to find a place where it's not too hot (rules out Florida), not too cold (rules out Michigan) and I can run a greenhouse without breaking the bank.

Glad to have you aboard. Great place we have here. Gets a bit wild at times, but still quite respectable. When you get a chance, why not post some pics of your 'chids? We love photos here.

Hi Terry, I'm Lynn and I still live in NY state. I like growing orchids and cacti & succulents too. Where did you live in NY?

Ross, we are looking to move to the southeast in the next year or two when my son graduates from college. I have found a map that describes growing seasons and the regions which could help you locate a place according to growing requirements. Will they allow us to post other sites here?

Default Welcome!

Hi Terry,
I just joined, too. I live down the road apiece in Waco, Texas. Tulsa has a great orchid show, as does OKC...although that would be a bit more of a drive. Good to have you onboard!

I just figured out how to reply so here it is. I like OK so I am staying here. I lived just north of Manhattan in Wchr. County. It gets pretty hot here in the summer and now the winters have been getting colder. Thought I was moving to the south to warmer winters but I guess not. LOL. It's tough to find the ideal place to live. You just have to visit different areas and make a decision.

Hi Lynn
I lived in Dobbs Ferry in Wchr. County. but was raised in Yonkers. I only have one orchid right now but my brother has enough for both of us.
