Well said, Katrina! We have owned both to and if we ever rescue another dog, it will be a senior, like us!

I think I welcomed our newbie but, welcome again to the controlled chaos of he OB, land of much experience and many opinions. 😆

Yes, we are w/out dogs right now too...lost our beloved Huey...a 14 year old Newfie...Christmas weekend of '15. And that came on the back end of having lost 3 other dogs and 2 cats all in the span of 3 yrs. Sometime rescues come w/health problems and we have had more than our fair share. Heart-breaking, to say the least. Life, work, recent family demands (caring for an elderly parent now) and the heart-break dictated we hold off on rescuing another canine-kid for awhile. We have recently put our toes back into the pool of doggie rescue...I imagine it won't be much longer. Thank goodness for the kitties or, even w/all of life's demands, the house would feel very empty w/out those furry paws running around. Dogs, cats, or whatever critter of choice, they all add an extra special something to our lives.

As for the opinions comment...yes, we have opinions-a-plenty around here. Sometimes frustrating but mostly...it's what makes the world go 'round and keeps things interesting.

BTW - our Toby boy looks an awful like your avatar kitty- Toby has shorter hair but other than that...they could be litter mates.

Thanks for the advice!

Welcome to the board Tony! For future reference if you are going to seek information on nurturing your 'affair' with orchids it will be helpful if you update your profile to show where you are in the United States. That information will help responders approach their answer with an idea of your geography. That way, you don't have to include your location in your note or title.
