I'm so happy to be part of this orchid community. Right now I have three Phal NOIDs and a tiny Dendrobium keiki, but I can't wait to start getting some more orchids and to learn even more about orchid growing! Aside from orchids, I grow all sorts of other houseplants (like spathiphyllum, pachira, usual houseplants :P) and I enjoy seeing the similarities and differences between orchid growing and (for lack of a better term) normal houseplant culture.
I look forward to seeing what the future holds for me and my plants!

Welcome to the OB! You'll learn a lot here, from friendly folks.

We can grow orchids as houseplants just like we do spider plants, ferns, and dragon trees. A lot of what are called "houseplants" are basically fairly tolerant and easy-going. You still can't freeze a dragon tree, or not water it. Growing orchids may take a bit of adaptation, but often the adaptation is as much in how we approach the plant in our house. Some are easier than others, but when they're in our house (aka "houseplants") the goal is always the same.
