Wonderful photo's. I love the cows and the cockatoos just as much as the orchids.

My collection (other than the large cymbidiums in the garden) grows on a southern hemisphere south-facing verandah with a tinted acrylic roof which probably cuts out 30% to 50% of the strong Australian sun. Light levels vary from 2,000 to 3,500 foot-candles.

I have about 100 plants covering about 25 genera. temperatures range from about 5°C (40°F) to 40°C (105°F). A lot of high-altitude Central American genera like Laelia and Cattleya thrive in these conditions. Orchids really are very adaptable.

Almost everything grows in bark - no other fiddly bits. Plants that arrive in sphagnum moss get repotted into bark and are quite happy. A few are on cythea mounts because of their growth habit - as they get longer, I glue another piece of cythea on top - I don't know if there's a limit to that.

Often, when plants are in bloom, I bring them inside so that we get more enjoyment from them.

I hope you like the pics.
Love your pics, I too have lambs and Orchids in On, Canada
