Default Greetings everyone from Northern California!

Hello All,

I have been growing orchids for 4 years now, but this is my first foray into a forum. I have referred to this forum umpteen times in the past browsing for advice regarding orchid care and culture. So, finally here I am, looking to share my wisdom as well and help all orchid growers as well as seek help, when needed.

I live in Northern California, and have a small greenhouse which houses primarily, warm-intermediate growing species, although I do foray into the cool-intermediate varieties from time to time. I like challenging myself, so I do have some unusual species. My primary interests are Dendrobiums and Angraecums, but I do have various Maxillaria and Coelogynes as well. Angraecums absolutely fascinate me, and I have been slowly expanding my collection. I do dream about growing cooler growing orchids, which I realize will open a whole new world of these wonderful plants for me.

I do grown some other unusual ones like Cleisocentron gokusingii, Appendicula malindagensis and within a terrarium, Lepanthes calodictyon and Lepanthes telipogoniflora. I have been slowly expanding my collection, and only running out of room in the greenhouse appears to deter me at this point. Gradually, I hope to explore the world of pollinating orchids and flasking orchid seeds, with the overarching goal of conservation.

I am glad to join all the other members of this forum and looking forward to having some great discussions here.

Best regards,

SV
