I just got a mini phalaenopsis orchid. It came with instructions to "just add ice". Won't that kill my orchid?
(I haven't added ice once)

Yes, it will.

Depending on your environment, pot size, medium, etc, the watering frequency varies. But once/week is a good start.

After 5 posts you can post pictures which are a tremendous help.
