The soft shadows look just right for a Phal.

One Year!

Seriously it's been a fun ride, met lots of nice peeps, gathered tons of useful information, learned some things about various species & their different needs, requirements & felt like everybody here took me (a beginner) under his/her wing and shared with.
A very nice place to be and I am happily here for a full year! Thanks everyone.

Charles, sorry I had a chuckle at the original post of the poor ice orchid as I reread this thread. Congratulations on your incredible year of growing orchids. You have worked hard at growing the your plants and I'm certain you've been rewarded as they mature and grow, bloom for you.

This is a very nice place to be, I've enjoyed this forum and the many helpful members. I have learned so much since I began growing orchids and most of that knowledge has been from the experienced growers here.

I just read the thread, and your rough start with Phals. Do you still have that second Phal you bought after cooking the first one? And how many orchids do you have now?

Congrats on being here a year! I just realized that I'm fast approaching my 10 year anniversary here... And even after all that time, I'm still learning new things all the time from members here!

Yes, she's probably my healthiest, Alecia Beth Moore

(the top leaf is a brand new one this summer)

I consider her my 1st!

I was up to 43 orchid plants I lost 6 and 5 others are on the cusp (trying so desperately to revive)

Congratulations on your 10 years also, and I guess we can never really know ...how much there is to know?

That looks like a happy plant! I recently lost the Phal that I considered to be my first orchid, I was very sad... What happened with the 5 you're trying to revive? After 10 years I'm still learning new ways to kill orchids!

Charles your Phal looks great! You must have found the perfect growing area for her. I still have my first orchid, a Miltoniopsis in need of a larger pot!

Thank you!

I'm sorry.

3 of them are being nursed in zeer pots while the other 2 which are small neos I ruined by exposing to the outdoors too fast, too much, too ignorant this season sit leafless.( one was Tom Thumb [crying] my Kiroshinju ) Their roots only hang in airy plastic sphag pots now while I hope for a turn around !

Well the window dressings & the decor
might give away the place she likes the best.
