One of the biggest goals for me today was to purchase a package of shisk-ka-bob sticks.

The working day got in the way of that.
Do you think that I should be thinking ""Oh, my plant's is wet and needs to dry out", as it is to think, "It's dry so I'd better water it". " ...still?
Aren't the top roots turning white now?

I use a different technique, probably not so practical, but I don't want to stick skewers that might damage the roots. That's something I would have done when repoting, but I didn't remembered. So, now what I do...
Put a pot, similar in size to that one, filled with the same mix, next to the phal...when you water, water both the same way, same amount of water...when you'll check if it's time to water again, and if there are any doubts, stick the finger in the pot with the mix.

To me it looks like you can water your plant now. I just look when they are in a clear pot like this and you can tell that the bark is dry just by looking. The roots are also silver looking.

Yes I couldn't stand it any longer.
I woke up and viewed the top silvery white roots hanging
over the top of the plant's pot then immediately brought it into the bath where I drenched the plant in clear tepid water thoroughly before leaving for work.

As a reference, I water mine once per week. Your conditions might be different but, probably, your watering schedule won't be much different.

I am also considering moving this plant into my bedroom with more windows (the hallway door top window doesn't quite provide much light at all) but there is an AC unit and a ceiling fan in room. Never gets down past 68 though except in winter.
It seems to have been fine for the 6 days I've had it in
the mud room, ...
