Default Hello from Edel

Hello to all, my name is Edel, I am a new member to this board. My compliments for the great informative site, it is very neat, friendly and informative. A little about my self, I 45 year old Cuban lady, raised in the USA, I live in central Florida and I just LOOOOOOOVE orchids! I have a about 50 orchids, some in vases around the house, some on wood slabs, and some on a tree branch my husband cemented in a container for me. I get lots of compliments on the "orchid tree" and the orchids love it there. I look forward to many informative chats with all of you. Thanks!

WELCOME EDEL!
Glad you have joined us at the OB
Your displays sound wonderful! What kind of orchids do you have?
Do you have any spare photos of your orchids to post? I'd love to see your 'orchid tree'

Hi, I have some phals, 3 paphs toghether in a cystal bowl, 1 Odontoglossom, a few Ociduims, a few Dendrobiums, one in particular is the prettiest in bloom right now it is a Den. "Upin King Serenade" that has 26 blooms on it. There are 23 blooms on a 14-15" cane, and 3 blooms on a smaller 9"cane. In the morning it fills the licving room with a fruity and flowery scent that resembles fruity bird food, it is breathtaking. I will try to post pictures. Acouple other Dens. are also in bloom now. I have a "Jewel" orchid, 1vanda on the tree, a terrestrial vanda that has pencil-like stems, and I have a really small orchid that was brought to me from Puerto Rico. Actually, I have been searching all kinds of sites trying to identify it. It is a small clump of 6 pseudobulbs that start perfectly round and later enlogate to look like part of a cane. It has not bloomed yet, I guess it will be easier to identify when it does. I will take a pic. and submitt for review, maybe someone can shed some light. I think it is in the Cirrhopetalum family.
