Greetings from the PNW!
Hi all!
Joining the board from Portland, OR.
Since space is tight, I'm focusing mainly on temperate and miniature orchids (as well as carnivorous plants)!
My background is more with cacti/succulents and food crops, so this is a new area for me, but real excited to be learning more.
Cheers!

Glad you could join us. What orchids do you currently grow? Sit back, read a few of our members' posts. You'll find space, not to worry

That's cool. I actually flip back and forth between this forum and a carnivorous plant forum. What all are you growing?

I've got none of those orchids except a couple of NoID phals. I have (3) of the 'Akai Ryu' I ordered. I ordered a S. Leuchophylla 'Hurricane Creek' from the same guy and there were two plant stuck together. I'm really looking forward to seeing that one.
I also have a NoID VFT and Sarr that are both trying to bloom for the first time this year. I have a few N. Lady Lucks and a couple of N. Ventrata. I haven't had the Nepenthes for long and haven't been able to get them to pitcher yet.
I'd like to get a Ceph at some point, too.

Welcome! Looks like you have quite a collection going already. This is an awesome forum for information and sharing in each other's pure joy of growing and blooming orchids. I hope you will post pictures of your plants, we do like the pictures!

Welcome! There is a Totally Off Topic forum where people post photos of their other plants, and we drool over those, too.

Welcome from a fellow Portlander; are you a member of either of the local OS?

Unfortunately not yet, but it is my intention!
I did go to the most recent show and pick up a few things though

Awesome! The white on those 'Hurricane Creek' leucophylla are pretty stunning.
Just fair warning on the Cephs (maybe this is just my experience) they throw a HUGE hissy fit when acclimating, so just be prepared for that if you order online
