Default Hi from Gold Coast, Australia

Hi from the Gold coast, my name is Dezzie and Ive been addicted to orchids for 3 years now.
My obsession started with saving discounted and mistreated phals, somehow turning my black gardening thumbs to greenthumbs! Inspired by this I now have over 100 orchids, mostly cattleyas, dens, oncidiums/intergenerics, bulbos, and paphs and my latest challenge a flask of miltoniopsis (the only way I could get my hands on some!) We shall see how they go!
I have been lurking and soaking up so much advise from this site over the years and finally want to reach out to other addicts!
Thanks for all the info and advise Ive gained here already

Welcome Dezzie! We look forward to seeing your plants.

You have a lot of wonderful orchid societies in Oz. You can meet other addicts there, too.

---------- Post added at 04:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:13 PM ----------

Figuring out how to post pics wasnt as hard as I thought, thanks for the great "how to" threads
Heres my Lc.Prophesy 'Montery' x Blc.Rhea Thornburg 'Alask'. First ever bloom opened just yesterday, hoping it may develop a fragrance soon.

And a recent purchase NOID that was opening its first flower when I got it. Almost all open now and seems to glow in the dark with the yellow green tips. Thanks to another ID thread on this site I believe it may be a Banfieldara gilded tower 'mystic maze'.

Welcome to the Orchid Board from way across the world down here in Texas.

Your orchids are beautiful! And I agree they look very happy.

Welcome to the board. And do let us know how the flask turns out, I love hearing about them. Even though I haven't done it yet. And I really don't know if I ever will.

Thanks for the replys
Ahh the lil flasklings...not really doing too well Im afraid. I have lost a couple as I let them stay too damp I think, some developed brown leaf tips and some started damping off a bit. I only have a photo from my old scratched phone, the flask was rather shaken during transport.

I deflasked on 20th feb, here they are now.

Hopefully I can keep at least some alive!
