Talking Seeking other orchidheads in Georgia...

Is there anyone else here from Georgia? The Atlanta Botanical Gardens is hosting its annual Orchid Daze event, which lasts until March 30th. I'm going. Is anyone else? Details are on the calendar.

Jill, I used to live in GA (Suwanee) but for some dumb reason I moved back to Ohio in 2003. It is this time of year that I really regret the move. I did get a chance to see the Fuqua orchid house in the Atlanta Botanical Gardens a couple times before we moved. Very impressive! I would love to go to this event but don't have any plans on a visit before March 31st. I also saw that Fuqua and the Aquarium were doing some kind of combined event recently. You can be sure, the next time I do visit Suwanee/Duluth, I will be stopping by Atlanta Botanical Gardens.

The Fuqua was just EXPLODING with 'chids. I took my new digital. I am so thankful to God that someone invented the digital macro. I'll post my photos soon. Some of the 'chids are so teeny! I saw one that was curly, like overheated plastic. Yet, it was sooo fragrant.

Bill, I know you'll enjoy your visit.

Ross, thanks. I'm just looking for locals who enjoy orchids. My first local society meeting is in just a few weeks. I know I'll meet folks there. Hope some hang out here, too.

Hi Jill

We'd love to see some pictures from there...sounds wonderful!

Enjoy your first society meeting...they're a great way to learn about orchids and meet new people. Don't forget to tell them about Orchidboard
