Default I'm a newbie!

Hello, everyone. My husband gave me an orchid for Valentine's Day. And I found this site while trying to figure out what kind of orchid I have. (I still don't know!) I've never had orchids before, but I've always wanted to give it a try. So keep your fingers crossed for me! Any beginner tips would be appreciated!

Hey Sara! Welcome to the OB. If you take pictures of your plant, I'm sure there are a lot of people who could help you figure out what it is

ENjoy it here! Everyone is super nice

Hi Sara,

Welcome to OB. We love to see pictures. Sometime we can give a name but we almost always can give advice. Lots to learn about orchids and lots of fun watching them grow and bloom. .When you post pictures and find out what you have then you can really ask the "how do I" questions. Have fun here.

My avatar is the orchid in question. I also have a thread in the "Identification" forum and more pictures in the gallery. (If I did it right, that is. Still kind of figuring out the site...)

Default It sure looks like it has oncidium in it to me.

That is about as far as I can go with it.

Hi Sara welcome to the board.

I am a newbie too (in orchids).
Those are biautifull flowers! If you can make a photo of the full plant we can tell you at least what the main specie is.

Hi Sara...welcome to Orchidboard

Your new orchid looks like a Miltassia hybrid to me...it's lovely Hopefully, somebody else will be able to come up with an answer for you. Hybrid names are not always easy to come up with.

I look forward to hearing more from you...if you need help with anything, let us know

Brassidium Wild Warrior seems to be the verdict. I tend to agree. Thanks for the welcome and the help, everybody!
