Hello from Michigan
Hello, my name is Dawn, I'm from Michigan. A few years ago my husband bought me my first orchid. Since I did well with that one, he has since bought me three others (all phals) and a mini (I have yet to determine). One has managed to sprout a keiki. I was very excited to find out what that was after googling. And I'm happy to announce it's spouting it's first stem. They are going strong which is great, but once they are done, I will need to re pot them. A couple are trying to crawl out. I'm a little nervous to do that. But being here will make me feel like I will be able to do it successfully.
Thanks

Welcome to the Orchid Board! What part of Michigan are you from? There are quit a few local orchid societies in MI, especially in the lower peninsula. They're good for the hands on stuff like repotting.

And this is how it starts. I was the same way and so I found this sight as you have. I now have much more confidence to re-pot but still get a little scared at times. You are lucky in that I had already killed several before I found it.
Welcome and you will have lots of help.

Welcome! With the information you find here, you will soon have that attitude!
Good luck when you build up the courage to repot your Phals.

Thanks everyone I'm on the west side of Lansing. I recently found an orchid greenhouse that's about 20-30 minutes from me. Would love to go there.....but afraid I would get into trouble. You just can't go to a place like that and NOT buy something. lol.

So you're in Lansing, home of The Greater Lansing Orchid Society. I'd be willing to bet the greenhouse you found is Porters in Grand Ledge. If you paid them a visit I'm sure they could give you some tips on repotting your orchid.
