Default Hi, from Canada

I've had orchids for a few years, and browsed these forums, but finally decided to join.

I think I recently struck gold at my local supermarket...

Twinkle oncidiums for $1 each! (so obviously I bought a dozen)

Also purchased a pair of large potted cymbidiums that were in desperate need of repotting. They were potted in a Miracle Gro mix-like substrate (like a soil) and had gone anoxic in the middle of the root mass. Had to cut away most of the roots, but the bulbs are still alive and there's new growth... Best part was finding that each pot actually contained 6 plants!

Exciting additions to the collection.

Glad you finally decided to join, welcome. Twinkles for $1.00 I would have gotten a dozen also. Are they different colors?

Yes, all different colours, but their exact colours unknown...

They were ordered in the week before valentine's day as a special order, and nobody bought any. The followers had died on most of them (so as far as the store was concerned they were no longer worth anything), and they were going to throw them out in a week, so I grabbed as many as I could. Few close friends grabbed some as well.

Got some deep red, some white, some yellow, some cream coloured as far as I've been able to tell.

BTW if there's any Canadian members, I'm desperate for a good bark nugget supplier. Also been searching for Maxillaria tenuifolia. I'm located on the East Coast. We had an orchid society (still do as far as I'm aware) but it seems they've been having trouble keeping afloat lately.
