Hi everyone of Central Florida
Hi everyone,
I just wanted to introduce myself telling you what I grow and want to grow...LOL I have been growing orchids now for 3 years, a new guy to orchids. I live right outside Orlando so the weather here is great for growing orchids outside. I have a shade house that I constructed on my back porch so I can hang my orchids underneath it.
I mainly grow vandaceous orchids. I think the last time I checked, I have 75 vandas and ascocendas and they are blooming like crazy outside. I was never very lucky with other orchids until I started growing cattleyas. I had the honor of meeting Alan Kock from Gold Country Orchids and got hooked on Lc. Love Knot....I love it. So, now I am interested in C. walkeriana hybrids because they seem to love the heat and sun we get.
Here is a pic of one of my favorites, Ascocenda Su-Fun Beauty 'Orange Belle' AM/AOS-RHS .

Welcome to the board!!!!!
I am sooo gonna live vicariously through you. I love Vandas, but they are forbidden to me while I languish in the North East.
That pic, . I thought blue Vandas were the nicest, they come in ORANGE TOOOOOO!!!
Welcome to the board. Please post more Vanda pics, .
Sue, we have so many folks from Florida that maybe you should start an Orchid club for Orchid Board members in Florida. Host BBQ's invite out of state guests, buy, sell, and trade each other's orchids.

The out-of-state guests idea sounds great!

Aboard Wally, great that you found us. The OB is the greatest place on the web a wealth of information as well as a variety of hobbiest. I as well live in Central Florida, outside Orl "Casselberry", howdy neighbor. Nightly chats with a chid topic not to say we get off track once in a while but hope to see you there. The best part of the chat is that on certain nights it comes with the "oldies" tunes, let's have a round of applause for Tindo, what better place to type the tune-words. We have a gallery, you can set up your photos to share, your Orange Belle is gorgeous, love the color.
