Welcome to the Orchidboard! Glad you joined us. From the history incorporated in your post it appears as though Horticulture is your passion and I suppose career? I wish I had had a passion that led me to a career when I was 16. I can still say the same thing.

Awwwwwwwwwwwww......

Welcome. From time to time I see various people remake heirloom crosses with much better parents.

Your LC is really nice, and many people would find a huge fragrant repeat bloomer like that highly desirable. Have you sent a photo to Fred Clarke at Sunset Valley Orchids?

Welcome! Many of the old "Heirloom Cattleyas" are still around. They become available from time to time.

Glad you like that plant! It has some great characteristics, but bloom size is not one of them; individual flowers are about 2.5" - 3" which ain't big. But it produces a lot of them!

I've never corresponded with Fred, no. You think he'd be interested in this plant?

Thank you Shannon! I'm glad you like my Cattleya. I've kept it these twenty years only because it appeals to ME! I always figured it was sub-standard, relatively speaking - and wouldn't stand out in a crowd in any way. Maybe I've been too critical?!

I don't know, but it's clear he likes big bifoliates and spotted hybrids.
