Default Howdy

I used to keep some orchids back in the '90s. My path back to the mad grip or orchid mania has been slow.

I've had a Brassada Orange Delight since 2009 and despite a bit of neglect it has done quite well and blooms a lot.

The guy in the cube next to me had a noid Dendrobium which started blooming after I repotted it and took over its care about 8 months ago.

And after a year of care, a noid phal handed down by my sister is in spike.

I've now got a couple of Cattleya hybrids and Stanhopeas. I generally like fragrant flowers and plan to get a few more in the coming months. Unfortunately my sunny kitchen window and slightly less sunny living room window only provide so much space... not that anybody else would know about that.

My "illness" is progressing quickly. Today I'm driving from Portland to Seattle (3 hours each way) to pick up a Coryanthus macrantha from Seattle Orchid. Sure they would ship, but that takes to long!

You are lucky. I have ordered from them a few times but wish I could go see them in person. Oh well, where I live shipping them is a must, have a good time.

Hello and welcome!
I am waiting for Seattle Orchids to ship me a few...hopefully they will send them out Monday.

I started with some orchids when my youngest was a baby then gave them away as my other plants were far more interesting. Then I got back into them and...wow. So, I do understand.
