Hi .. my name is Amy and I am new to this as well. My stepdaughter bought my first orchid, a Phal, for Mother's Day and I became addicted to them. I have attended an orchid show in New Orleans and added a few different varieties to my collection ( I have 13 in all). I keep mine outdoors on my patio where there is no direct sunlight, but I have noticed yellow, brown and black spots on some of the leaves of my Phals (2 of which have keikis growing on them). I have no idea what to do and any suggestions would be appreciated (NOTE: I live in south Louisiana).

Welcome to the OB. Sorry no advice unless we can see pics. which would give us a better idea. Leaves do turn yellow and drop off, and the spots could be fungus or bacteria but I don't think so at this point.
We wish you well and continue to participate on the OB as we have a lots of good members.
Hello Amy, welcome to the OB. I am from North Louisiana, near Monroe. I am very new at this also. Just got my greenhouse completed and hoping the orchids get to feel really confortable in it. They have had a had life these last few months. Hope to meet some day soon.
Welcome Amy, There is a nice orchid society in Houma it is the Terrebonne Orchid society, It has some wonderful growers and at least two venders. I belonged to it for several years.
