Default Hello from Michigan!

Hi!

I've been growing phals for about two years now, and they've been growing wonderfully, except they won't rebloom. I don't mind if they don't bloom for a while, because I have a new plant!

I bought a Chiloschista exuperei from LA orchid this week, and I was wondering if anyone here has grown one and has some tips to share.

Currently its mounted on a piece of wood, and has healthy green roots. I spray it every day with distilled water and keep it above a tray of pebbles and water for humidity. Do these need any special care during the winter? I hear that they need to go through a dormant phase or something.

Thanks!

I do not have such an orchid but welcome to the board from another Midwesterner! Someone will chime in soon enough, or perhaps try posting your question/pic in the beginner's forum...? No matter what there's loads of people here who are really experienced and can get you on the track of blooming those Phals.

Cheers!

Used to live in Novi but my job drove me to the east side and retirement drove me north. Welcome to the Orchid Board. Lots of good people and advice here!
