Hello from Greece
Hello everyone!
I used to read the forum occasionaly, yet the language barrier didn't let me register.....until yesterday!
I live in Patras, a city of Greece, next both to the sea and Panachaikon mountain. Our climate does not include really cold winter (meaning under 0 celsium degrees), but we enjoy hot summers. It's a city with high humidity levels.
The last 7 years, I like spending time with my plants (and a little yorkie). Orchids I used to order from abroad, since in my country it's difficult to find something different than common dens and phals.
Nowadays I have some phal hybrids, 2 cornu-cervis, dens aphyllum, unicum, moniloforme, lodigessii, epidendrums, paph henryanum and 2 paph hubrids, cat. intermedias, catasetum, dens berry oda and biggidum, oncidium sharry baby, a neofinetia falcata, a vanda denisoniana and some others I do not remember right now!
Well, I do not know what else to say to introduce myself! I'm happy I'm a member of your community!

Welcome to Orchid Board! We are happy you are here.
I looked up your climate on:
European Climate Data
It is very similar to San Diego, California, USA, and Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, but a little cooler in winter than Sydney. People from those places can be very helpful to you in growing orchids.

Welcome to the Orchid Board! So you can grow orchids outdoors almost year round, and yet you don't seem to keep Stanhopea, Gongora or other similar genera? A good thing you got here when you did!

It's true that I do not move my orchids inside the house during winter, unless it's under 5C degrees. They live in my eastern veranda!
Οh my.... it seems I'll end up with many more orchids genera...
