Default Hello from New Windsor, NY

Hi everyone, I've been growing Phals and Oncidiums for a number of years. I've recently started raising some Paphs, which have bloomed sucessfully for 2 years now.
I also have some Colmanara, which until just the other day, I only knew as some kind of Oncidium hybrid. They are just stunning.
I'm only allowed a trestle table in front of an east facing bay window, so I am limited to about 10 plants at a time.
I've been fairly sucessful at keeping these beauties alive, and many are actually thriving.
I hope to learn alot more as I explore the boards here.

Bill

Hi Bill
Welcome! Hope you post of your chids. I personally have had no luck getting Paphs to rebloom....yet!!!! I may be old and gray before they decide to show me another blossom, but it's a great way to learn patience.
It's fun to hang out at OB and learn alot of different ideas in orchid growing. Please feel free to ask questions or give some tips that you may have.
Again, Welcome Bill!!!!! kiki

Hi Bill. If you're going to stick around here you must get a larger grow area You are about to see all sorts of orchids that you will soon have on your list to purchase. So why not give in to the "dark side" and get some place to grow them under lights or a greenhouse, or something?

The person in charge of the interior of my house has suggested numerous times that I get a greenhouse, but I think I have my hands full with what I have. If I need to get another orchid, I'll give one away to people that come over and admire them.
I posted some pictures in the gallery of the Paph that is currently blooming. I'm a computer moron and have lost this message twice already trying to attach a thumbnail.
If it doesn't take please go to the gallery and take a look. I think it's beautiful.(What parent doesn't think their baby is beautiful)
I treat the Paphs pretty much the same as a Phal, except I have them in a finer bark mixture. The one in the picture has bloomed 3 years running.
Thanks for the warm welcome and happy growing !

Bill
