Howdy from where the buffalo really do roam
Hi y'all!
My name is Sara and I'm growing orchids in Northeast Oklahoma. I've lurked on this forum for quite some time, so I finally decided to join in the fun!
Here's a brief history of my orchid infatuation. My husband bought me my first orchid, a lovely NoID phalaenopsis, for our first wedding anniversary. I tried to kill the poor thing countless ways, including rotting its roots, then desiccating them, letting the sun burn off all but one leaf, then letting a caterpillar eat the last one! But, it threw a basal keiki and survived, and finally convinced me to admire its toughness.
Now, 6 years later, it's alive and kicking (and blooming), and I've acquired a whole lot more! As I've encountered problems over the years, I've found many solutions from this forum. So, I just wanted to finally say a big, warm "thank you!" to you guys for saving my collection over and over again! I really hope that over time I'll be helpful to other orchid enthusiasts.
And a bit about me: I'm a passionate creative and an artist. You can see my artwork in my web link. My husband and I own a company, Hero Factor Games, where we make video games that support positive, biblical values. I love animals, plants, and researching things to death. I'm looking forward to learning more about you guys and your orchids, too!

Thanks so much for the welcome, guys and gals! My collection is pretty small right now... about 30 plants or so. But, as you guys understand, that number is growing at an alarming rate! I'm preparing some pictures to post soon.
