Heatwaves from Florida!
Shout out from South Florida! Raining and hot this time of the month, all orchids are grown indoors as much as possible.

Welcome to Orchid Board!
I am not sure where in South Florida you are but why would you grow all your orchids indoors, they love this weather and heat, mine are thriving, the only thing you need to worry about is unprotected sunlight on your orchids and as long as you have that under control you should be able to keep them outdoors all the time, it has been 4 years since I had to bring any in during the winter, now that I have close to 200 orchids it is almost impossible except for a select few.

Mine are all outdoors under 50% shade cloth. Occasionally I move some that retain too much water under cover during sequential days of rain but all are mounted or in open baskets with cork and are happy campers. My collection consists mainly of cattleya and vandacious genera.

I would love to put them outside, but I don't have a single shade outside for them from getting burnt from the Florida sun. Second reason, I'm really wary of those pest that they get. I got some succulents outside and they always seem to have spidermites or aphids.

Welcome to OrchidBoard. I hate to get any pest from outdoors too, even if it's only in the summer. I open the sliding door with a screen, that's as much outdoors as my orchids will get
