Default Hello. I'm in Florida and I like plants!!!

Hello, my name is Alex. This is my first forum I've been a part of. I've been collecting for a little over a year but studying plants for several. I live in central Florida so I lucked out enough to be able to grow a good bit outdoors but I do love my greenhouse. I hope by introducing myself someone might want to trade because so far when I've tried I've gotten back no response. I understand why but I assure you I am legit. If there's anyway I can help anyone in my area, I'd be more than happy to. I love to see people when they see a new orchid for the first time. I understand what it's like going to bed and laying there thinking about my plants or what a strange hybrid might look like. It is a hobby but I've learned a hell of a lot from orchids in general. Like patience! Wow that took a minute for me, il admit I've held grudges with orchids for not blooming! Ok that's pretty much all the intro I can come up with. If you read all of that rambling then thanks. Hope to talk to some people and learn as much as I can from all of you. Thanks. ---Alex K.----

Welcome.
There are some Facebook groups that offer Orchids trade and sale and also orchid swap. Some are specific to florida growers. If you join local orchid society, you will learn more resources and also be able to swap orchids or get new plants .

Welcome, Alex. Imagine the collection you will have some day getting started at this age. If I ever have something I can trade or give to you, I certainly will. I lost pretty much my entire collection this winter due to a power outage on a -14 degree night. The people on these forums have been amazing at helping me rebuild it. I am sure you will find a few people willing to help you out as well.

Hello Alex, welcome to the board.

There is actually a place on OrchidBoard where you can post plants for sale or trade. I found this source when one of my favorite OB poster--HawaiianSunshine--put up some Tolumnia hybrids for sale.

You can post what kinds of plants you are looking for...you are fortunate that you live in a temperate state.

I think you can find this subforum under Orchid Classified.
