Hello from Wisconsin
My introduction to orchids started about 10 years ago when I tired of non blooming houseplants. I would pick up plant supplies at a greenhouse that sold orchids. Great orchid advice was always available and soon orchids replaced houseplants. Then I discovered the annual Orchid Quest with a friend and could pick up starters which grew faithfully so each year collected a few more. Resale stores always seems to have orchid books so reading about orchids spiked my interest further. It's sad to lose an orchid and even sadder to see a local orchid supplier change hands and not have a place to browse, ask question, and buy. Now have family member who lives in Hawaii so see beautiful orchids at farmer's markets and garden centers.  |
