Good morning, afternoon or evening as appropriate
My name is Fee Brookes Butlin from Gaucín, Andalucía & I am here to learn about epiphtyic orchids that I wish to grow on virgin cork bark. Besides this I am keen to avail myself of interesting nuggets of information about this superlative family of plants. We have a good variety of orchids growing in the meadows around us and our children love to come on orchid hunts but we'd like some healthy, well maintained indoor varieties to beautify our home environment.

Welcome to OB, I am sure you will find this place to be a very good source of information. I knew nothing when I first came here, and though I am no expert, I have learned more about orchids in these forums than anywhere else. There are several members from Spain, so I am sure you will be able to find people here who know your local conditions well.

My wife and I have travelled extensively through Andalucia and Gaucin is absolutely beautiful. Everytime we visit family in Malaga, we come back home determined to retire and buy a home in one of the pueblo blancos. With all of that Andalucian sunshine, I could fill every window with orchids. Good luck!

Welcome! =)

I think it is so wonderful that orchids grow wild in the fields where you live. How beautiful that must be!
