Hiya from Melbourne!
Hey guys!
Just saying hi. I am an absolute beginner, I just started experimenting with orchids last year and I have decided it will be most rewarding (and inexpensive) to start growing from tiny baby plants. Tiny babies are available in tubes around August from my local hardware store down here in the Southern Hemisphere. I currently have four indoor orchids potted in terracotta and kept in miniature greenhouses for increased humidity, I started with these last year. So far it has been really rewarding to see how much they have grown in such a short time.
I have:
Oncidium Twinkle Fragrance Fantasy
Dendrobium Loggidesi
LC Gold Digger Fuch's Mandarin
and
BLC Hawaii Big Passion
I also have some outdoor dendrobiums, one I was gifted by my mother last year, and a mixture of others potted in groups I have grown from keikis in her garden. These are dendrobium kingarium and some other unidentified dendrobiums. I am waiting for flowers to identify them.
It's great to see how helpful and friendly everyone is on this forum, and what a wealth of knowledge!
Don't be a stranger!

Hi there Missr,
Welcome to the orchid board. I wish our area had the test tube babies they sold here at our local hardware stores or any stores locally. It would make it so much easier to get seedlings we want.
Watch out to that little greenhouse will be getting full in no time... You will been to get a bigger one. lol Enjoy your orchids and hope to catch up with you sometime in the chat area. Take care.,
