Once again, thank you for the words of welcome; you guys are great! Since I'm new to this, at the beginning I'll probably share my problems-mostly- before contributing any helpful advice. I have a couple of spikes coming, so I'll post some pics as soon as I get any results .

You lucky lady - you're next door to Montreal Botanic Garden - you can get a greenhouse and superior orchid fix almost anytime. I so loved my visits to Montreal and the Botanic Garden - sighhh......

Yeah, I used to visit the gardens every weekend when my daughter was small...now I moved to the 'burbs, so I get my fix mainly from shows now . Thanks, Maryanne.

I understand how fussy people can get online but honestly I've been pleasantly surprised by the people in this group. Of course there have been some...interesting threads here and there but for the most part I think you'll find most folks here are just happy to talk and share Orchid!

Hi Ursula, and like Lotis say's take it with a grain of salt. I know there is one thread going on just now but just stay away, I do. Ok I don't, I do read it but have nothing to add. That's just because I love to read a good fight. I know I'm bad.

Really it's from being on dog forums, holy cow they get mean on there. Toughens one right up. Really go join one then come back here and you'll go wow I thought this was a fight? This forum has helped me so, so, much, love it.

Lucky me I have no dogs, only cats , although I would think that cat lovers could get nasty.
