Default Hello from Spacecoast Florida

I'm new to forums, not really sure what I'm doing...

Fairly new to orchids, about 5 years. I started with two then a customer gave me five more and now I have approx. 100. I have vandas, phals, dens, bulbs, oncidiums, epis, cats, and a few others. I love the colors, the challenges of finding just the right spot and the satisfaction one has when seeing big or small beautiful blooms!! I love my orchids!!

I was looking up information on the World Orchid Conf and found the forum. This looks like a great place to learn and share information and pictures. Is there a "how to" section for uploading pictures? Are there any instructions for navigating through and using the forum? A thread is something I cut off my sleeve!!

Penny

Hello Penny!

Welcome to the OB! So glad you joined!
There are lots of people here on this forum who can help answer questions and give information.

For forum help, what I generally do is make sure to hit the "New Posts" button when I check the forum. It should be on the top of the screen, middle button to click. This will bring up any posts that have been made recently that you have not seen since your last visit.
Also, the search button right next to it can help you find something specific that you might need on the forum.

Hi Penny,
Welcome to OB! I know you'll enjoy it here. Lots of really nice people to interact with.

I noticed you had your photo's posted. Really nice!!! Especially the catts, my favorite orchid.

I hope to get to know you and your orchids much better!

Hi Penny

Here are some links to help you with your questions:

Resizing Images...originally posted 6/13/06 by Marty

Gallery Photos

Thumbnail pics in posts

Make sure you resize your pics before trying to upload them...it'll save you some frustration

As for getting around the board,

if you have a question or want to post a "thread" on a new subject, look in the Forums List to find which forum it should go in (self-explanatory...and not a big deal if you choose the wrong one, it can always be moved ), then near the top, you'll see a box that says New Thread. Click there and start typing in the white box. Type a title telling us what the post is about and then use the larger white box for the rest. When you're done, below the box you'll see Submit New Thread, click there and you're done!

To reply to an existing "post" in an existing "thread" , just type into the white box at the bottom of the page and click on Post Quick Reply

It's really easy and if you run into trouble, we're all here to help you.

If you need help, let me know
