Hi Gill
Welcome to Orchidboard
It's nice to have you with us.
As for learning all there is to know...
impossible in anybody's lifetime!
That's what makes it so interesting
What types of 'chids are you growing? We'd love some
If you have any questions, let us know

Thanx for the warm welcome
AS my friend Tomancreed reiterated, I too 'belong to several forums -- predominately for salt water fishing. Seems every time you post or reply you need to be wearing a flak jacket. You guys seem to be quite a bit more 'user freindly' I look forward to learning with all of you. I obviously need to get some pics posted along with an avatar etc. I'll get right on it! For GreggC -- it should have read boats, fishing and orchids -- My wife and I have a 38' sportfisher based in Alamitos Bay in Long Beach -- We like fishing (and hoop-netting for lobster) and the newest 'hobby' I've picked up are the orchids.. I've got the standard selection that started with a gift from a friend and escalated w/ severa Dens and Phaels both from Trader Joes and from the Farmers Market in Long Beach -- That escalated to Brassia's, oncidiums and miltoniopsis --- mostly from the farmers market -- Than I discovered Gublers up in the high desert. After having our recently remodeled bathroom acting as greenhouse for 6 months , I finally enclosed 1/2 of our patio, added skylights, lots of glazing and a mist system. That led to a $200 purchase from Maui Orchids and another trip to Gublers for Vandas, Paphs and 'stuff' -- I'll post some pics during the week -- I look forward to learning and participating!! Have a great week Ciao for Now!!
