Your Bulbo lobbii is AMAZING, awesome stuff, thank you for sharing.

Please tell me, is your lobbii mounted on driftwood with a little moss? What do you mount your bulbo on?

It was already mounted when I bought it, it has a little moss.

More often than not, my Orchids are already mounted when I bought it so I left it that way, why change it if it not broken, right? The only time I make adjustments is when I bought them in pots, more often than not I have to take them off the pot and mount them.

My other bulbos mounted on either tree fern plagues or blocks of wood with a little moss, My blumei just tied on a piece of twig.

Welcome!!

Beautiful plants! It sounds like you're in a little piece of heaven being around wild orchids and all, heck even just having the climate to keep them all happy. I can absolutely see how being in such an environment would lead to Orchid love. One day I would like to visit Indonesia, honestly though first and foremost to see wild Cockatoos - no offense fellow Orchid addicts!

But welcome again, and sorry to hear about the distance between you and your plants. You'll just have to get some more!!

Hey Suri85, sorry it's taken me so long to reply!!

I have an Umbrella Cockatoo (White Cockatoo) and would love to see them in their natural habitat. But I would also love to see all the others including the Moluccan (Salmon-crested). Gosh, that would be so great to see Orchids and Cockatoos at the same time!!! Man, if you happen to see any I sure wouldn't complain about those pictures, Fids (feathered kids) & Chids.

Do you see them much? I wonder if the Toos chew on the capsules in the wild? My Too is not allowed around Chids cuz well, that's the first thing he goes for, has to check everything out.

I think both of them are in the Maluku islands. I live the island of Java, it probably took 5hours and 2times zone to Ambon, the capital of Maluku islands.

I don't often seen them, unless if I go to the Pramuka bird market haha

I do believe the Moluccan (Salmon Crested) is named after those islands.

Bird Market!! Oh dear, is it as dreadful as I hear bird markets are? They're beautiful birds, but good Lord, he is more than a handful. Had to get stitches in early summer after he'd been a bit too worked up and when I went to put him away he got my ear! They belong out there in the jungle (though I still love him ).

Btw, ever seen any wild Orangutans? Had to ask, sorry...

Thanks for sharing.

When I was small, I used to love going to the bird market because I could see so many different birds. They sell pretty much everything; from your usual canaries, budgies, cockatiels to wild singing birds like the hill mynas, starlings to ornamental chicken, ducks, pigeon, to wild birds like jungle fowls, hawks, owls, birds of paradise, parrots and exotic pets like slow lorus, deers, mouse deers, bats, and their feed and accessories.

Nowadays, I don't dare stepping foot there, it is cramped, smelly, unsanitary, frankly I afraid I might get bird flu there. Beside as I get older, I prefer flora more because no number 2 to deal with, quieter than a mouse, no offensive smell (generally), and it gives you oxygen.

Wild orangutans? They are found in the jungle of Borneo and northern Sumatra so plane rides and further land travel into the jungle or reservation.
